It's a tough question, but if you had to answer the question, "What is/was your favourite Childhood Sit-Com?" - what would you say?
After minimal deliberation for me, it'd have to be Full House. Uncle Jesse's hair was one of the most beautiful things that graced the Suisted TV set, and Uncle Joey's poor impressions was one of the worst. But from the opening "aaah" of the theme song, to the rolling of Bob Saget's name in the credits - it was one feel good moment.
Your call?

Mine was MacGyver, hands down. Not really a sit-com, but who could really take it seriously? Me and my Dad would always sing along with the intro theme at dinner time when it came on. dat dat dat dat dat daaaa dat dat daaaa

Alf. For you kids who weren't really culturally aware in the 80s, it was about a wise-cracking furry alien who secretly lived with a suburban All-American family. My family bought our virgin VCR in the Christmas of '88 and Alf was the first thing I ever recorded.
I'm feeling samboze on MacGuyver too. I cried when Dad wouldn't let me stay up to watch the last ever episode of Magnum P.I. (Jerk!). I can't really relate to the Full House/Saved By the Bell/3rd Rock from the Sun fandom. I'm of a different vintage.
Kids today wouldn't know a good sitcom if it hit them in the face...

oh, full house all the way! No doubt about it! lol we actually have an Alf doll somewhere around the house...it creeped me out when I was little cause I had no idea what it was 0_o 3rd rock from the sun and the fresh prince of bel air was pretty cool, but full house is my most treasured sit-com. I bet you could've heard the groans from our house when they announced they were cancelling Full House. I'm with patches on this one, BRING IT BACK!!!

Knight Rider was pretty cool back when I was kid, and it's even still on Prime I think. That car could do anything, and David Hasselhoff hasn't changed a bit in over twenty years, the guy was pure class. I always wanted to be like him and drive out of moving trucks and hit 'turbo-boost' and making everything go really fast-forward. Too cool.
They brought the car to NZ once, and I got to go and see it and sit in it. Dumb thing wouldn't talk to me though...

They usually play knight rider mid-afternoon on TV3 in the holidays. I wasn't around in the time of the pre-baywatch Hoff but it honestly opens completely new doors in life when you sit down and religiously watch re-runs of shows made before you were born.

What about the Ten Million Dollar Man? I watched re-runs of that, it wasn't my favourite, but I think it deserves an honourable mention...

Dude, what about BARNEY!?
Totally my fave from 0-5 years old. I hate to admit but I would run up to the TV when my beloved "I LOVE YOU, YOU LOVE ME..." started chiming and hug and kiss the TV. hehe..
But as for the latter years, I'd have to say withing the last two of this life, I have definately come to apprectiate and obsess over Friends. It's a wonder no one has mentioned it yet.. LEGEND.
I can remember the early years of sneaking in watching from the hallway cause mom never thought some of the jokes werre suitable.. you know how it is.. you laugh and get the gist but you really shoudn't know what they're talking about...
Good 'ol FRIENDS.
p.s. SEINFEILD!
