Random thought. So many times I have heard others, including myself say "God is so far away". I was thinking how utterly human of us it is to say something like this. I think we have perfected the art of passing the blame, even on to God. Funny how that statement doesn't seem to pass fault until we look at the same cause for phrase with a different point of view. Try "I am so far from God". Doesn't that just turn it around, but making it a positive thing. It is saying that it is no longer God that is the problem but the things that I have done. But thats the cool part. If you can recognize that a huge part of the disconnection is on your own part, you can actually take action. When we say "I am far from God" it's showing yourself that there is something you have to improve on and get up and run the race. Not just sitting, waiting for God to answer purposeless prayers. It's a step forward in maturity, in the realization that we are not perfect, God is, that there is so much more you can do personally, in your walk with Him.

I think you're on to something there, Christina (as I've come to expect from you).
So, when/if God feels distant how do you 'take action'? I personally find the idea of connection and relationship with God a tricky one; fraught with all sorts of questions and doubts. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this.

i find that when god feels distant it is because i have made myself distant from god maybe not intensionally but through not spending time reading his word, prayer, meditation its the consequence. look at john charpter 15 it totally focuses on coming "close to god and that god will come close to you"
